The themes of the 2025 Blue Mountains World Kangaroo Day are again...




The Main Activity on World Kangaroo Day, Friday 24th October


On Friday 24th of October, people will be handing out
the Blue Mountains World Kangaroo Day 2025 Event and the Kangaroos need our help now flyers
in the town centres and/or stations - in as many towns/villages as possible all around the rim of the BLUE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK WORLD HERITAGE AREA.

Anyone who is interested in helping out beforehand or joining us on the day;

The Main Events of Blue Mountains World Kangaroo Day on Saturday 25th October





Both Events will be...
...a celebration of our beloved Kangaroos,
...a chance for concerned citizens to form local community groups to help protect and care for our local mobs,
...an opportunity for us to learn how to 'Care for Country’ plus get official support to Care for all Kangaroos & Macropods
...and as a fundraiser for Rescuers/Carers of Kangaroos.




‘Buru, the kangaroo, has been protected for thousands of years
– we are mentally, physically and spiritually connected to this ancient animal through our living cultural lore.
We all must protect Buru, the kangaroo.‘

Proposed Program of the 2025 Adult Conference


The Welcome to Country will be delivered by Graham Davis King

This WTC will start at 9:45am and end at 10:00am.



Morning Session - COMMUNITY: Stories of Communities joining together to care for and protect Kangaroos

This Session will start at 10:00am and end at 12:30pm.

This session will include...

First Nations People talking about the strong connections they have with each other, kangaroos and country.



Rescuers/Carers talking about how they and their colleagues have been able to coordinate the saving, protecting and/or caring for Kangaroos.



Community Groups talking about what they have done to save, protect and/or care for local kangaroo groups.


Individuals talking about how they share the land with local kangaroos.



Midday Session - CONNECTION: Rest and Relaxation - Eat healthy life-giving food and chat to like minded souls.

This Session starts at 12:30pm and ends at 2pm.
For this session, Adult and Children combine, either in the front room or theatre.

Videos of Kangaroos will play in the background.


This session will include...

...Group Meditation for 15 minutes. Feel the power and connection when we work as one.


...Vegan Lunch is provided free of charge from 12:45pm to 2pm.

The lunch will consist of ...
1. vegan protein food like pakoras, samosas, vegan sausage rolls and tofu skewers.
2. Salads - green, roast vege and potato salad.
3. Tabouli and Falfel plus dips like hommous, guacamole, babaganoush and peanut sauce.
4. Sunflower Sourdough and Pita Bread from local bakeries.

...There will be Open Mic Time from 1:30pm to 2pm
- for music, stories and events relevant to the care and protection of kangaroos.



Afternoon Session - COMPASSION: How to identify & stop the forces that are killing our unique and magnificent Kangaroos


Session 3 starts at 2pm and ends at 4:30pm.

This session will include...


...Kangaroo Advocates talking about the problems with the colonial Australian society that so adversely impacts our precious Kangaroos..


First Nations People talking about Aboriginal Law - like the Yuin Declaration for Kangaroos
- that aims to protect Kangaroos from relentless extermination undertaken by Colonial Australia.



...Legal & Wildlife Care Experts talking about how the current law fails to protect any of our native wildlife especially kangaroos
and why the institutionalised Government and NGO animal 'welfare' groups unjustly persecute Kangaroo/native wildlife carers/rescuers for saving their lives..


Local Government Councillors & Residents talking about how projects - like the Planetary Initative and Rights of Natures
can be used by the community to protect local kangaroos.
